NYK reshuffle of Japan-Thailand-India service results in new shuttle
NYK's restructuring of its Japan-Thailand-India service will result in its existing HLS being delinked at Laem Chabang, forming a Japan-Thailand shuttle service (LNS), and Thailand-India shuttle service (New HLS).
The carrier's aim is to provide a competitive and stable service from Thailand to India and Pakistan, where demand is growing, with a new direct call to the port of Karachi. NYK will also continue its commitment to Japan-India cargo through transshipment via Singapore, said the company.
Japan-Thailand will be covered by the LNS loop, which will continue to provide a competitive service, while transit time between Japan and Ho Chi Minh will be improved after the city is included in both the southbound and northbound LNS.
The LNS (Lynx) service will use four 1,700-TEU vessels with a 21-day turnaround to commence southbound from Tokyo on March 27 and northbound from Laem Chabang as of April 7. The port rotation will be Tokyo, Shimizu, Nagoya, Kobe, Ho Chi Minh, Laem Chabang, Ho Chi Minh and back to Tokyo.
Its new Thailand-India shuttle service (HLS) will deploy four 2,900-TEU vessels in a 28-day turnaround to commence westbound from Laem Chabang on April 7 and eastbound from Karachi on April 17. The port rotation will be as follows: Laem Chabang, Singapore, Pipavav, Karachi, Nhava Sheva, Colombo, Port Klang, Singapore and back to Laem Chabang.
Its existing services of the HLS (Hercules) service will deploy six 2,900-TEU vessels on a 42-day turnaround. The port rotation is Tokyo, Shimizu, Omaezaki, Nagoya, Kobe, Keelung, Laem Chabang, Singapore, Colombo, Pipavav, Nhava Sheva, Colombo, Singapore, Laem Chabang, Keelung and back to Tokyo.
