NYK, MOL wrap up charter deal for Cameron LNG project carrier
NYK has concluded a second time-charter contract with Tokyo's MOL for a new liquefied natural gas (LNG) carrier for the Cameron LNG project in the US state of Louisiana. It signed an earlier contract last September.
MOL will take LNG produced from this facility, NYK said. The ship will be delivered in 2018 and assigned to transport LNG for a quarter of a century. The new vessel is owned by Rosewood Shipping, a wholly owned subsidiary of NYK Group that will be responsible for the ship's management.
The LNG carrier has a capacity of 177,000 cubic metres and is being built by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd.
