On 21 September 2014, Nordic Yards launched two 7MW multipurpose salvage/icebreaker vessels, the Bering Strait and Murman from their shipyard in Wismar, Germany. The two vessels are part of project MPSV06 and are being built for the Russian Ministry of Transport under the federal target program “Development of transport system of Russia (2010-2015).

Delivery to the federal institution “Morspassluzhba Rosmorechflota” is planned in March 2015. The Bering Strait and the Murman will be assigned to the ports of Korsakov and Murmansk, respectively.
