Nine passengers killed in terrorist attack
Nine passengers of the "MSC Splendida" were killed in the terrorist attack in Tunis on Mar 18, another dozen was injured, six were still missing.
Among the death were passengers from Japan, Spain, France and Columbia.
The "MSC Splendida" had entered the Goulette port at 9 a.m. coming from Sicily with 3714 passengers and 1267 crew members on board.
Also the fate of 13 of the on the whole 3161 passengers of the "Costa Faszinosa" was still unknown. Two were reported to have been hospitalized.
The "Costa Fascinosa" left La Goulette on Mar 19 at 1.55 a.m. minus 13 passengers. 12 members of the Costa Care Team and two representants of Costa Crociere Top Managements have already arrived in Tunis for further investigations jointly with the local authorities. The company was on close contact with the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, security authorities, local port agents and the master of the "Costa Fascinosa". MSC dispatched its board director Pierfrancesco Vago with a team to Tunis.
