CALIFORNIA's request for special treatment on vehicle emissions under the Clean Air Act was sent to Congress for review to maintain vehicle choice for consumers by Lee Zeldin, administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), reports Washington's Institute of Energy Research.
A Republican controlled Congress is expected to free consumers from California and other states from being forced to buy electric vehicles. Until then, the EPA will not enforce California law compelling electric vehicle sales.
Mr Zeldin is also reviewing deals by the Biden administration to include funding for Green NGOs.
'Zeldin identified US$20 billion that the Biden administration parked at a financial institution to hide the dollars for later use for projects awarded by Biden's Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund,' said the institute's press release.
