MONACO's Navios Maritime Containers has agreed to acquire a 2010-built, 4,250-TEU for US$11.78 million subject to number of conditions.
The vessel is expected to be delivered in this quarter. The company plans to finance the acquisition in cash on its balance sheet and $6 million from an existing credit facility.
Following the acquisition, the company will own 22 vessels, with a total capacity of 93,130 TEU and a current average fleet age of 9.8 years. At present, 56.5 per cent of its fleet has been chartered out for 2018 and 18.7 per cent of its available days for 2019.
Expected charter EBITDA is $67.5 million in 2018 at a daily rate of $10,000 and $9,000 for 4,500 TEU and 3,500 TEU vessels, respectively, according to Clarksons.
