MOL pledges free shipping to get aid to Philippines typhoon victims
JAPAN's Mitsui OSK Lines (MOL) has offered to provide free transport of relief supplies by containership to the central Philippines to support victims devastated by Typhoon Haiyan.
The company has also donated US$30,000 to support emergency relief efforts in hardest hit areas.
"The MOL Group expresses its heartfelt sympathy to the people and communities afflicted by this disaster and hopes they will be able to return to normal life as soon as possible," a company statement said.
It has agreed to transport aid supplies donated by government institutions and aid organisations from ports where the group's vessels make direct calls to the Port of Manila between now and the end of December.
