On Aug 1 the 'Sarost 5' with 40 migrants aboard docked in Sfax where they were disembarked after three weeks on sea. Three of them, among them two pregnant women, were taken to a hospital. The migrants had started on July 13 in Syria and initially were rescued by a Malta flagged ship from which they were transferred onto the 'Sarost 5' three days later. For days the ship was moored off Sfax without getting permission to enter befor the Tunesian MP Youssef Chahed allowed the vessel to berth for humanitarian reasons.
