The US Coast Guard medically evacuated a 44-year-old man suffering from abdominal pains from the 'Minerva Grace' near Long Beach, New York, in the evening of Aug 3, 2018. Watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector New York command center received notification at 10:30 p.m., stating a cre wmember needed medical attention aboard the tanker. The command center watchstanders briefed the flight surgeon who recommended the medevac. A Coast Guard Air Station Atlantic City MH-65 Dolphin helicopter aircrew arrived on scene and safely hoisted the crewmember and transported him to the John F. Kennedy International Airport. The man was then transferred to Jamaica Hospital in Queens, N.Y., by EMS.
