MALAYSIA's MASkargo and Germany's DHL Express are partnering on a delivery service that is expected to launch April 24, reports London's Air Cargo News.
The service will use a web portal that allows customers quotations, booking for delivery, online payment, print consignment notes and shipment tracking.
MASKargo will deport packages in the air and DHL Express Malaysia will provide the back-end services of pick-up and delivery of goods to recipients.
'MASkargo's business model has always been on the airport-to-airport concept. However, the evolution of customers' purchasing style and expectations in the delivery of goods purchased today has highlighted the need for us to be closer to our customers,' said MASkargo CEO Ibrahim Mohamed Salleh.
'After many discussions related to the technical details of this new service, we are pleased to have found a reliable partner in DHL. With the objective of making this service a comprehensive end-to-end solution for the public, we hope to leverage on each other's expertise and network in giving the best delivery service to our customers,' said Mr Salleh.
Brunei managing director Julian Neo Poh Choon declared that recent research from DHL indicated that 80 per cent of all B2B sales interactions between suppliers and professional buyers will take place in digital channels by 2025.
'Customers today are always on the go and they want their products faster than ever before. This partnership with MASkargo couldn't have been better timed as we leverage our presence in over 220 countries and territories worldwide to provide our insights and expertise to customers looking to harness the opportunities afforded by e-commerce,' said Mr Choon.
