M/V LUNO: Hatch and interiors cut down, Salamander workingSalamander, the amphibious vehicle which may work in a water depth of five meters and which will participate in the removal of the submerged parts of the "Luno", was operational on Mar 19. Meanwhile inner parts and the hatches of the foreship were cut down in order to lighten the wreck before it will be pulled onto the upper beach to complete its deconstruction. By gutting the interior and deconstruction of hatch covers, the wreck can then be more easily dsiposed of on the upper beach of Anglet. Underwater Surveys to identify the sunken wreckage with sonar by the Company Angloy CASAGEC started on Mar 12.
