London Maritime Salvage & Casualty Response meeting September 7-8
THE 7th Maritime Salvage & Casualty Response Conference will be held from September 7 to 8 in London.
The conference address both the technical challenges of salvage operations as well as the legal, insurance and commercial implications through recent case studies and expert views from senior level representatives in the salvage industry.
Among the speakers there is Jim Allsworth, senior admiralty partner at C Solutions, who will discuss lessons learned from salvage cases.
One case was settled in three months of the services and the second after four years at arbitration. Mr Allsworth will delve into the whys and wherefores, attempting to resolve the question of who was right and why.
Other speakers are Sam Kendall-Marsden, head of division, UK and Americas, Standard Club; Matt Bierwagen, naval architect, Resolve Marine Group; George Tsavliris, principal, Tsavliris Salvage; Zoe Lappa-Papamatthaiou, legal director, Danaos Shipping and John Noble FNI, master mariner, Constellation Marine Services.

"With salvors having to conduct harder and more complex salvage operations with the cost of wreck removal spiralling out of control, the industry heads are looking at innovative ways to ensure a secure and profitable future," a statement issued by the organisers Active Communications International (ACI) said.
