LOGISTICS services provider Logwin is this year celebrating its 20th year of operations in China, where it is currently expanding its network of offices as intra-Asia trade lanes grow and consumer demand in China expands driven by growing demand for logistics services across the country.
This demand has traditionally been from the export of manufactured goods to Europe and the US. Now consumer demand for imported brand named products is growing in Asia. In addition new markets are opening up in the West and Central areas of China. It said in a statement that these developments provide opportunities for the company to further expand its business in China.
"We know and understand how to deliver a comprehensive range of logistics services across Asia, as we established our presence in the region in 1972 and began operations in China in 1992. During the last 40 years we have grown our business in Asia exponentially as regional markets opened up to foreign trade and expanded," said Tomas Sonntag, managing director of the Far East Asia region's Air and Ocean business segment.
The opening of the company's own offices in Shanghai and Dalian in 1992 had a strong focus on providing logistics services for textile production. Nowadays in China it employs 450 staff across 25 offices and offers a range of services to customers from different industry sectors. Its primary customers are from the automotive, hi-tech, consumer electronics, retail, fashion and lifestyle industries.
The company's China network includes 13 container freight stations (CFSs) and consolidation hubs with close to 30,000 square metre, as well as six specialized warehouses with a combined area of 15,000 square metre.
In 2011, the logistics firm opened a new office in Chengdu and strengthened its operations in Chongqing in Western China. At the beginning of this year, it opened a new warehouse in Beijing. In future it plans to expand its sales capability and office network in South China, covering Hong Kong, Macau, Fujian, Guangdong, Guangxi, Guizhou, Jiangxi, Hunan, Hainan and Yunnan provinces.
