DEMOLITION
In the demolition sector, this week’s subcontinent’s market has decreased significantly (about $10-$15 since last week) mainly due to vast oversupply of tonnage. Cash buyers and scrap-yards alike, are “cherry-picking” available ships in the demo-market, thus driving prices down. Rates are currently ranging between $390-$410 for bulkers, $415-$435 for tankers & $410-$425 for container vessels.
China is still weak paying $290-$305 while Turkey is still bullish paying $330-$340 for bulkers, $335-$345 for containers & tankers.
