SWISS forwarding giant Kuehne + Nagel has launched an enhanced version of its SeaExplorer online platform to mitigate disruptions caused by blank sailings.
SeaExplorer helps find the best option for container shipping needs, enabling customers to improve their shipment planning and inventory management with the help of artificial intelligence and the access to big data, said the company statement.
Industry sources predict a high rate of cancelled sailings in various trades in the coming weeks. Schedule reliability is currently at 65 per cent, the lowest level in the past 10 years.
'This allows customers to quickly compare options across all liner services to easily adjust routings according to requirements for speed and reliability,' said Otto Schacht, member of the board of Kuehne + Nagel.
