NORTH American ports need to more efficiently use terminal space, improve cargo flows during peak periods, and get ships to and out of berth quicker in order to match the efficiency levels of the world's leading ports overseas, according to APM Terminals.

THERE is the risk of further delays to work to deepen the German port of Hamburg to allow it to accommodate larger container ships, after a German court ruled that plans to dredge the river Elbe in Hamburg must be improved before a stop order on the work is lifted.
