'K' Line’s port operator signs deal to expand Tacoma terminal
"K" LINE unit, International Transportation Service (ITS) that runs container terminals in Long Beach and Tacoma, has signed an agreement with Northwest Seaport Alliance (NWSA) to expand the Husky Terminal in Tacoma.
The expansion will be completed by July 2018 and involve extensive enhancement providing 420,000 square metres of leased and preferential berthing area.
NWSA has also agreed with ITS to place an order for four of the largest and most modern gantry cranes, making the terminal capable of docking two 18,000-TEU vessels simultaneously.
