MARITIME services provider, Inchcape Shipping Services (ISS) Australia, has acquired Christy & Griffin, a leading marine surveying and consultancy business in New South Wales, to expand its service offering presence in Australasia.
Founded in 1966, Christy & Griffin is a regional survey company with multi-port operations covering New South Wales and Victoria, and associates in Queensland and Western Australia.
The company's services range from cargo surveys (quality, quantity and damage inspections) to vessel surveys (draft, stowage and bunker), flag state audit, and Port Captain Services to P&I work. Christy and Griffin's diversity extends to bulk cargo handling, 3D stockpile mapping, land transport logistics and, together with ISS branch offices, it is now offering marine insurance inspections on a national scale.
Said Inchcape country manager Danny Rees: "This new partnership will combine our existing network with Christy & Griffin's core capability to offer world class marine surveying service combined with our wider geographical presence and integrated service range."
Said Christy & Griffin general manager Chris Brown: "We are excited about expanding the business with ISS to offer new locations within the Australasia region and the synergies with other survey products within its global business."
Christy & Griffin will continue to operate as an independent company and all six permanent employees will remain with the business.
