WITH their integration in full swing, Panalpina staff in North America are now being trained to use DSV Air & Sea's transport management system.
The objective is to transfer all customers and volumes from Panalpina's to DSV's system, and to have all freight forwarders within the air and sea units operating from the same system, reported London's Air Cargo News.
Offices in Chicago, Detroit, Minneapolis and St Louis have undergone on-the-job training to 'learn the ins and outs of Air & Sea's transport management system.'
DSV Panalpina said: 'On October 15, the system went live at these locations, and we're now fully up and running.'
President Air & Sea USA Niels Larsen is happy with how the integration is progressing so far. 'I don't know how many miles I have flown the past four months to meet and greet a good 1,500-2,000 Panalpina staff in North America,' he said. 'I'm very excited about our joint future.'
