THE Huanghua comprehensive port area in northern China's Hebei province posted a robust growth of 135 per cent year on year in container volume to 106,674 TEU as of April 25, reports Xinhua.
The volume figure surpassed what it did in the full year of 2012 and was half of what it achieved in 2013, according to Hebei Port Group.
At present, the Cangzhou Bohai Port Company has developed business contacts with six major carriers such as CSCL, Cosco, Zhongu Shipping and Quanzhou Dyna International Shipping Ltd and there are a total of nine shipping lines opened, including six domestic trade branch lines, two domestic trade trunk lines and one foreign trade branch line.
The port's exports mainly include grain and coal, accounting for 38 per cent and 23 per cent of its total exports respectively. Imports are mostly agricultural with some building materials.
