Hapag-Lloyd upgrades eastern Med and Black Sea service February 16
GERMANY's Hapag-Lloyd will offer the Black Sea Mediterranean Express (BMX) from mid-February to link ports in Egypt, Israel, Turkey and the Black Sea with competitive transit times.
BMX will guarantee the connectivity of the Black Sea ports with Hapag-Lloyd's comprehensive global liner service network ?especially to and from North America, Latin America, Far East, Oceania and North Europe.
Three ships in the 1,700-TEU range, each with a high number of reefer plugs will be deployed with the first sailing from Damietta on February 16.
The port rotation is Damietta, Port Said (east), Ashdod, Istanbul (Mardas & Marport), Novorossiysk, Odessa, Constanta, Istanbul, Izmit, Izmir and back to Damietta.
