Hamburg Sud's 7,100-TEU Santa Cruz switches to Luxembourg flag
THE 7,100-TEU Hamburg Sud Santa Cruz is to operate under the Luxembourg flag on its New Good Hope Express service on the Asia-South Africa/South America East Coast trade.
This brings the German carrier's total flagged vessels under European flags to 53 per cent at 18 of its 36 Hamburg Sud-owned vessels of which all are under the German flag except for the Santa Cruz.
The reflagging was made possible through collaboration with YCF Maritime which provides services through its company EuroFlag Services.
The German carrier is due to take delivery from Korea's Hyundai shipyard of the 9,100-TEU Cap San Nicholas which will fly under a European flag also.
