THE Gujarat government has agreed with Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (APSEZ), to set up India's largest multi-modal logistics park, reports Mumbai's Construction Week India.
The park will occupy 1,450 acres at Virochan Nagar near Sanand automobile hub and will attract investments in the logistics and transport space
'This park will be directly connected with the Dedicated Freight Corridor and all major ports. In line with 'Atmanirbhar Bharat,' this park will make businesses in Gujarat more competitive globally,' said Gujarat's chief minister Vijay Rupani.
The park will have a 4.6 km runway capable of handling large vehicles like airplanes in a dedicated air cargo complex. A Rail Freight Terminal will also be established.
A warehouse zone will also be instituted, including an air freight station, a grade-A warehouse, and cold storage.
A shopping plaza and business center will be at the forefront of the design, while a dedicated skill development center will be set up to ensure the availability of skilled manpower.
Construction is expected to begin within six months after the necessary statutory approvals, while project competition is expected within three years by 2023.
