The 'Lite Ferry 27' has been pulled off by the tug 'Lite Tug 1' of the Lite Shipping Company during high tide on Sep 14 at 9 a.m. after it ran aground two daya ago near Mocaboc Island off Tubigon, Bohol. The ferry was docked at the port of Tubigon after the successful salvage. Personnel of the PCG-Tagbilaran and Tubigon substation oversaw the operation with the assistance of the Marine Environmental Protection Unit. The ferry had been was bound for Tubigon from Mandaue City when it ran aground due to limited visibility of a lighthouse in the area which served as the vessel’s guide due to the captain’s miscalculation. Tubigon’s seaborne patrol had responded to the scene and rescued the 63 passengers.
