Geodis has celebrated its 500th successful flight with Atlas Air on its dedicated freighter service from Asia to Mexico, reinforcing its long-standing logistics partnership, reported London's Air Cargo News.
The service, operated by Atlas Air since 2019, includes weekly flights from Shanghai and Hong Kong to Guadalajara using Boeing 747-400 aircraft. All capacity is reserved exclusively for Geodis.
Miguel Munoz, managing director of geodis in Mexico, said the milestone reflects the company's commitment to customers in Mexico and Latin America. A ribbon-cutting ceremony and commemorative plaque marked the occasion at Guadalajara Airport.
Geodis maintained the service through the Covid-19 pandemic and recent geopolitical disruptions, showcasing the route's resilience. The company opened a new office in Guadalajara this summer to support operations.
The service is supported by a ground network offering daily deliveries to cities including Mexico City and Monterrey. Shipments can clear customs in Guadalajara or be moved bonded to their final destination.
Geodis also operates a leased Airbus A330-300P2F via Titan Airways between the UK and China, primarily serving e-commerce demand.
