The 'Jevenau' was disabled and started to drift in the English Channel northeast of Le Havre on June 29, 2018, at 5.40 p.m. On June 30 at 7 a.m. she was still drifting in southwest direction, parallel to her original track. The ship was en route from La Coruna, where she had sailed on June 26, to Wandelaar/Puurs, with an initial ETA as of June 30, 8 a.m.. The SAR tug 'Abeile Languedoc' (IMO: 7710525) was sent from Boulogne-sur-Mer at 3 a.m. to assist. At 07.30 a.m. the 'Jevenau' crew hat fixed the problem and was returning to its original course, escorted by the tug as a precaution.
