On June 28, around 9.30 p.m., the maritime prefecture of the Channel and the North Sea was informed by the CROSS Gris-Nez that a crew member, aged 22, had fallen over board from the 'Saint Philippe' two miles off the Bay of Somme between Quend Plage and the tip of Marquenterre. The CROSS deployed a Dauphin helicopter of the Navy base Le Touquet; the semi-rigid 511 and 708 of the SNSM station Cayeux-sur-mer and the lifeboat 'President Jacques Huret' of the SNSM in Boulogne-sur-Mer. Three fishing vessels in the area also participated in the search, the 'Ita est', 'Salut des pêcheurs' and 'Jean-Paul II'. At 11.40 p.m. the man was located by the semi-rigid 511. He was hoisted aboard the Dauphin helicopter and taken to the Boulogne hospital with mild hypothermia.
