THE Commercial Port of Vladivostok (CPV), part of FESCO Transportation Group, posted a 16 per cent year-on-year increased in the first seven months of 2018 to 294,000 TEU as well as an 83 per cent in automobiles and special equipment to 33,000 units.
CPV also posted a 40 per cent increase in cargo in the same period to 5.8 million tonnes, which exceeded its total throughput in 2016 - a record year, reported St Petersburg's Port News.
The stevedoring company says the highest growth in the first half of 2018 was seen in the segment of ferrous metal, automobiles, special equipment and containerised cargo, said the report.
In the seven-month period, transshipment of general cargo surged 76 per cent to 2.94 million tonnes with the share of ferrous metal having increased 113 per cent to 1.89 million tonnes.
Annual capacity of the port is 3.9 million tons of general cargo and oil products, 150,000 vehicles and over 600,000 TEU. Commercial Port of Vladivostok operates 15 berths with a total exceeding four kilometres.
