The 'Trisna Dwitya' ran aground about 300 meters from the port of Gilimanuk in Indonesia in the evening of July 14, 2018. The ferry was swept towards shallow waters by strong waves as it was approaching the port. All of the passengers were evacuated. Attempts to refloat the vessel was unsuccessful due to the low tide. Local authorities will wait for high tide before trying to pull the vessel off its grounding position.
