ABU BI's Etihad Cargo has launched 'FlightValet', a newly-designed product for luxury vehicle shipments to popular holiday destinations worldwide, reports London's freightweek.
Commenting on the launch, Etihad Airways managing director Cargo and Logistics Abdulla Mohamed Shadid said.
The new service is the latest addition to the company's suite of high-value products which includes FlyCulture, an arts and musical instruments product launched last year with the opening of the Louvre Abu Dhabi, and its pharma and life sciences service TempCheck.
'FlightValet is a key part of our strategy to leverage Abu Dhabi's natural position as a logistics centre for the world, and drive growth in high-value product segments that diversify our portfolio,' said Etihad Airways cargo chief Abdulla Mohamed Shadid.
With the holiday season approaching the airline says its FlightValet is supported by a dedicated logistics team that also caters to racing enthusiasts who want to take their cars around iconic racetracks such as Abu Dhabi's Yas Marina Circuit, home to the Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix since 2009.
In addition to individual customers, FlightValet also offers car dealers and manufacturers the opportunity to ship vehicles globally, particularly Italian supercars from Milan Malpensa airport on Etihad Airways passenger aircraft, as well as chartered and scheduled freighter services.
