The 'Kine' suffered an engine breakdown four miles east of the Gabbard Windfarm on July 28, 2018. The incident was caused by an issue with the fuel oil pump, and the ship dropped anchor in position 51 49.8 N, 002 09.1 E, four miles east of The Gabbard Wind Farm and 2,5 nautical miles southeast of Sunk Eastern Tss. Repairs were thought to have been completed at 9.50 p.m., and the vessel resumed the voyage from Carboneras to Howdendyke. However, the repairs were found to have been ineffective as the vessel proceeded to an anchorage off Cromer on July 29 at 05.25 a.m. where it moored in pos. 52° 57.47' N 001° 20.06' E. Arrangements were being made by the ship's agent (PD Ports) and the owners to source the required parts and deliver them to the ship. It was hoped the parts would be available on July 30. The vessel had on board 1.445 metric tonnes of fertilizer.
