TAIWAN forwarding giant Dimerco has implemented its dual-brand strategy in Singapore with a dedicated new ocean freight service operation, Diversified Freight System (Singapore) Pte Ltd further strengthening its position as a global logistics specialist in the ASEAN region.
The dedicated ocean freight service operation, which was formally opened on January 18, will provide enhanced ocean freight services in Singapore to Dimerco's extensive customer base.
According to CEO Edward Lin, Dimerco's expansion in South East Asia has been driven by the booming market, particularly in the light of the current US-China trade war.
The continued uncertainty is leading manufacturers in China to consider moving to alternative locations such as Vietnam, Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore, which offers one of the best regional hubs in South East Asia.
In establishing its dedicated services here, Dimerco is looking to capitalise on this situation and offer wider ocean freight and logistics capabilities to customers.
Dimerco has also unveiled a new 14,000-square foot bonded warehouse, offering competitive cost storage, with 1,200 temperature-controlled pallet space and four loading bays.
Located at the Airport Logistics Park, part of the Free Trade Zone with easy access to the airport, sea port and cross-border trucking, the new warehouse facilitates transshipments on the same or on multi-modal transportation as well as LCL freight consolidation.
