DHL Express has ordered six 777 freighters from Boeing as Deutsche Post dhl Group closed 2021 with record earnings, reports London's Air Cargo News.
The purchase takes DHL Express' order book to twenty-eight 777 freighters since it placed its direct order in 2018.
The company has taken delivery of fifteen 777 freighters to date and last ordered eight of the freighter type in January.
'With the order of six new, large widebody freighter aircraft, we continue to invest in our future and further enhance the capability and reach of our global air network,' said DHL Express vice president Geoff Kehr.
'The Boeing 777 Freighter is the most fuel-efficient aircraft in its class and will connect DHL's global hubs in Cincinnati, Leipzig, and Hong Kong as well as serving other key markets.'
Meanwhile, Deutsche Post DHL Group revenue was up 22.5 per cent year on year to a record US$90.06 billion in 2021.
