CSAV-ordered 9,324-TEU Cochrane delivered to merger partner Hapag-Lloyd
GERMANY'S Hapag-Lloyd is to take in charge the 9,324-TEU Cochrane, the third of seven same-size ships ordered by CSAV at Samsung in April 2013, reports Alphaliner.
Hapag-Lloyd took over the CSAV units following the merger of the CSAV container business with Hapag-Lloyd in December.
The seven ships are wide beam neo-panamaxes fitted with 1,400 reefer plugs and cruise at 22 knots and are to replace chartered 6,500-TEUers.
The Cochrane follows the Cautin, delivered in December. The Cochrane has been assigned to the multicarrier Far East-east coast South America Loop 2 (SEAS 2/ASAX 2/ASAS 2/NGX 2), operated by Hamburg Sud, Maersk, CMA CGM, CCNI, CSCL, Hanjin and Hapag-Lloyd/CSAV.
