Syrian freighter Condor 1 on the night of April 9 after giving distress signal sailed from Novorossiysk area to Sinop to shelter from SW storm, with 20 degrees list portside due to cargo (onions) shift. MRCC Novorossiysk received phone call from MRCC Turkey advising vessels’s position at 0900 April 9 in 42 17.5N 036 18.2E.

Syrian freighter, enroute from Alexandria (Egypt) to Novorossiysk (Russia) issued distress signal and went off communications on the night of April 9, being some 30 nm off Novorossiysk.
Ship has 10 crewmembers (3 Syrians, 6 Egyptians and 1 Lybian).
Captain of the ship, Bassem Kaaddour, said that they were in risk of sünking due to slide of cargo caused to list of the ship to port side about 20 degrees.
