"Statement, 27th June 2015
Claus-Peter Offen Tankschiffreederei, technical managers of MT STI PIMLICO report that the vessel was in collision with passenger ship Celestyal Crystal at approximately 0125 local time whilst travelling southbound in the Dardanelles straits, Turkey.
There are no reported injuries to crew or passengers from either vessel.
The collision has caused damage to a port side cargo tank resulting in an outflow of some Naphtha cargo.
Naphtha is a refined, light product that is non persistent in the environment.
MT STI PIMLICO is currently anchored off Gelibolou at a safe anchorage, which has been designated by the authorities.
A pilot is on board and three tugs are in attendance with a full assessment of the situation now being undertaken.
Anti pollution measures have been implemented, including deliberately listing the vessel to its side in order to minimize any further outflow of cargo.
The company would like to thank the authorities for their swift and professional response and we will continue to work in close cooperation with them.
STI PIMLICO is a 2014 built double-hulled tanker carrying a cargo of Naphtha."
