CMA CGM starts new Adriatic Sea to Egypt, intra-Med loop for reefer cargo
FRENCH shipping giant CMA CGM has commenced a new intra-Mediterranean service that links ports in the Adriatic Sea and Egypt specifically designed for the transportation of perishable goods in reefer containers.
The new loop, branded ADRIMED Express, is operated by three ships: the 2,741-TEU AS Cypria, the 2,741-TEU Cape Mayor and the 3,426-TEU Sagitta. The carrier operates all three vessels, reported American Shipper.
The port rotation is: Rijeka, Trieste, Venice, Koper, Malta, Damietta, Alexandria, Malta and Rijeka.
The carrier said the ADRIMED Express offers the best transit times on the market between the Adriatic Sea and Egypt. It added that from its hub in Malta, efficient transshipment connections are offered to worldwide markets; and from the ports of Koper and Rijeka, it provides a wide range of intermodal services.
