WINES from Burgundy, 420 bottles in total, are being transported on board a 2,200-TEU containership, departing from the French port of Le Havre for a 80-day-around-the-world sea voyage through the Panama Canal to Sydney.
The consignment will return to France on September 18 aboard the CMA CGM Azure via the Suez Canal, after calling at New York, Papeete, Noumea, Singapore, Malta, Genoa, Rotterdam or Hamburg, a statement from the French shipping line said.
The impressive collection of fine wines includes from Burgundy Cremant de Bourgogne Rose tastevine, Saint-Aubin 2010 tastevine, Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru les Saint-Georges Hospices de Nuits 2007, and Corton Renardes Grand Cru 2007 tastevine.
The shipment is being handled by Confrerie des Chevaliers du Tastevin along with partners CMA CGM and JF Hillebrand.
