US BOOKINGS for container transport from china to the United States spiked almost 300 per cent in the wake of the United States and China pausing their tariff trade war.
The average bookings for the seven days soared 277 per cent week to week to 21,530 TEU from 5,709 TEU, said container-tracking software provider Vizion's vice president Ben Tracy.
US importers stopped shipments after April 2, when US President Donald Trump announced plans to slap 145 per cent tariffs on goods made in China, but that trade restarted after the United States and China announced a 90-day thaw in their trade war.
