China to launch new shipping service from Jilin province to Vladivostok
YANBIAN Korean Autonomous Prefecture, in China's Jilin province on the Sino-Russian border, is actively promoting the launch of a new shipping service from its capital Yanji city to Vladivostok, which is expected to commence service during 2013.
Yanji city, 450 kilometres from Vladivostok involves, road transport via the Huichun border checkpoint to Vladivostok, taking seven hours. The new shipping service is expected to greatly transit time.
A senior official from Yanbian Prefecture government said Tumen River region is under rapid development during recent years with trade steadily growing with the support of the Chinese and Russian governments.
