Shipments of Nexperia chips from china have restarted following a partial lifting of export restrictions that had disrupted global car production, reports London's Financial Times.
German car parts maker Aumovio confirmed it had resumed chip exports from China after receiving an exemption from Beijing's controls. Chief executive Philipp von Hirschheydt said the company was again shipping chips, following a temporary halt.
China had blocked exports of finished Nexperia chips last month in response to the Dutch government's move to take control of the Netherlands-based firm, citing concerns over its Chinese ownership. Around 80 per cent of Nexperia's chips are processed in China.
The chips are widely used in the automotive sector, and the ban had threatened to disrupt car production globally. However, after US President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping agreed to a one-year trade truce, Beijing indicated it would begin talks with affected companies.
