Chinese investment in Brazil surged 113 per cent last year, making the country a top destination for Chinese capital.
Chinese firms confirmed 39 projects worth US$4.18 billion in Brazil in 2024, more than doubling the previous year's total, reports Hong Kong's South china Morning Post. The data came from the Brazil-China Business Council.
Brazil ranked third globally for Chinese investment, behind only the United Kingdom and Hungary, and led among emerging markets.
The report noted a shift toward smaller projects aligned with Brazil's industrial policy and energy transition, replacing the large-scale acquisitions that previously characterised Chinese investment.
