Nine of the 25 fishermen rescued from the 'Dorneda' were taken aboard the Argentine flagged trawler 'Beagle I' (IMO:7312074) to Mar del Plata, the other 17 were expected in Montevideo aboard the Spanish trawler 'Farruco' (IMO: 9241906) on July 13 which had participated in the search for the missing 27the man, a Maroccan. On the whole the ships had rescued five Spaniards, eight Indonesians, 13 Peruvians alive and recovered one Peruvian dead. The search for the missing man was continued by two Argenine aircraft. The trawler had activated its distres beacon on July 11 at 10 p.m. 204 miles off Chubut in the Camarones Bay resp. 308 miles off Comodoro Rivadavia after large amounts of water had entered the engine room over the stern ramp and had caused a blackout. The crew deployed two rafts and a rigid and abandoned ship. The last signal was issued at 10.10 p.m. and received by the Puerto Belgrano Naval Base vom MRSC (Maritime Rescue Coordination Sub-Center). On July 12 at 2.42 a.m. the 'Beagle I“ located two rafts and started with the rescue mission, being joined by the 'Farruco‘ short time later.
