GLOBAL non-vessel operating common carrier (NVOCC) and ocean freight consolidator, CaroTrans announced the start of its rapid less-than-container load (LCL) import service from China with a direct Hong Kong links Atlanta.
Earlier in the year, CaroTrans announced a second weekly Shanghai to New York service, and a new Shanghai to Atlanta service.
The weekly South China service, covering the entire Pearl River Delta from October 14, has a 22-day transit, and claims to be the fastest in the market.
Imports arrive in Atlanta with express connections to 10 IPI points throughout the US Southeast. Destination unpack provides cargo availability within 24 hours at Hartsfield warehouse.
CaroTrans has an Asia LCL import service network with less cargo handling for reduced supply chain risk and greater reliability. With direct LCL services, transshipment costs are eliminated and transit times shorter, the company said.
"As a top US trading partner, China is a critically important market for CaroTrans to grow and develop," said CEO Greg Howard.
