CAROTRANS, a global non-vessel operating common carrier (NVOCC) and ocean freight consolidator, has teamed up with MOLAX Line, an independent NVO in South Korea to create a "stronger, more robust" less-than-container-load (LCL) service network in the transpacific trade.
The CaroTrans-MOLAX alliance will offer secure, local service for import and export cargo moving between the U.S. and northern Asia.
Their new cooperation enables the partners to provide direct export services from Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, Chicago, New York and Charleston to Busan. On-forwarding via Busan further extends coverage to North China, a wide-range of west coast ports in Japan, as well as Vladivostok, Russia.
Earlier this month, CaroTrans added a direct, weekly LCL export service from San Francisco to Tokyo, Japan.
Their import network consists of an array of direct, weekly services from South Korea to Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago, New York, Seattle and Miami. From these gateways, CaroTrans offers express interior point intermodal (IPI) connections to 70 locations throughout the U.S.
CaroTrans has 14 branch offices and 24 container freight stations (CFS) in North American. In Busan, MOLAX owns and operates a 380,000-square-foot warehouse and will open a second warehouse of 360,000 sq. feet in mid-2014. It has a staff of 200.
"We are pleased to be partnering with MOLAX Line, a skilled market leader that will deliver the highest level of dependable service and support. Our strong team is focused on customer care and service quality and offers an exceptional range of LCL services to meet the needs of businesses expanding globally," said global CEO of CaroTrans, Greg Howard.
"Our committed partnership will be a winning solution. Together, we'll provide first class transpacific ocean services and resources for our valued customers," added DH Lee, CEO and founder, MOLAX Line.
