The "Wilson Hobro", which had sailed from Rotterdam with a cargo of aluminum bullions on board bound to Chalkis on Feb 8, 2017, turned around on Feb 10 about 50 kilometers west of the Pointe du Raz. Part of the cargo had started to shift to starboard in rought seas in the English Channel causing the ship to list. The owners, the Bremer Lloyd Reederei, decided to divert the ship to Brest where it arrived shortly after 7:00 p.m. and berthed at the eastern wharf of the 5th basin, where the cargo was to be restowed.
