In the night of Sep 11, 2018, the Swedish Coastguard was alerted by the 'Arklow Resolve' which was drifting just south of Marstrand in wind speeds of 23 m/s and wave heights up to four meters. The ship had suffered a main engine breakdown and was disabled after having left Gothenburg at 9.40 a.m. bound to Sevilla, ETA Sep 18. The patrol boats 'KBV 001' and 'KBV 316' were sent to the distressed ship which had difficulties to get anchored. It was therefore decided to take it in tow to a safer area. The ship was loaded with fertilizer and had on board about 86 tonnes of bunker oil and about 27 tons of diesel. The vessel was towed to the Dana Fjord off Gothenburg en where it was anchored in pos 57° 40.60' N 011° 41.13' E, and the shipping company took over responsibility.
