APL expands 'West Coast 5' service by adding 3 port calls in Central America
SINGAPORE's APL has revamped its West Coast 5 (WC5) service by adding ports calls in Corinto, Acajutla and Puerto Quetzal in Central America, and enhancing direct connectivity between the port of Los Angeles and markets in Latin America.
The shipping line said in a release that the "WC5 service has been refined to better support trade activities between Central America and the United States".
Central America continues to be a key exporter of agricultural produce and commodities, clothing and textiles to the US.
Starting September 14, the enhanced WC5 service will call at the ports of Los Angeles, Lazaro Cardenas, Corinto, Acajutla and Puerto Quetzal every week.
