CONTAINER shipping line members of the Asia Australia Discussion Agreement (AADA) have announced that the bunker surcharge level for shipments from Japan, Korea, China, Hong Kong and Taiwan to ports in Australia is to be adjusted.
The move comes in response to a decrease in the price of oil sold in Hong Kong and South Korea.
Effective from December 6 the bunker surcharge will be US$475 per TEU and $950 per FEU for dry and refrigerated containers.
AADA members have adopted voluntary policy guidelines and have reached a non-binding consensus on the above arrangement, a notice to the trade said.
AADA members applying this new bunker surcharge level are: ANL Singapore, APL, CSCL (HK), Cosco, Evergreen, Hamburg Sud, Hanjin Shipping, Hapag-Lloyd, Hyundai Merchant Marine, "K" Line, MSC, MOL, NYK Line, OOCL, Pacific International Line, Sinotrans Container Lines, TS Line and Yang Ming.
