XPEDIATOR has acquired UK freight operator Anglia Forwarding Group, including its London Heathrow airport branch.
The purchase, for an initial cash payment GBP1.5 million (US$2.012 million), plus a further GBP700,000 payment on completion and a deferred cash consideration of up to GBP2 million by May 2020, will give Xpediator Group 10 sites in the UK and 11 in Europe, employing a total of 781 people, London's Air Cargo News.
Xpediator chief executive Stephen Blyth said that that Anglia's air freight office at Heathrow combined with being a global partner to United Shipping since 1988 would be a valuable addition 'and will significantly increase our access into the key markets of America and China'.
Xpediator specialises in road services to and from East Europe under the Delamode brand and also provides online delivery services.
Anglia Forwarding has a main base in Rainham, Essex, with other branches in Birmingham and Felixstowe. The forwarder offers sea and air freight services to the US, China and Europe, along with trans-European road routes.
Anglia Forwarding Group chief executive Peter Tough added: 'Since its foundation in 1971 Anglia has grown to be a highly successful international forwarder offering a high standard of service to clients. By becoming part of Xpediator Group we will be able to make use of being part of a larger group to expand our business and provide additional services to our existing client base.'
